On Wednesday, Eskom announced on their Twitter account that Stage 2 loadshedding will now be implemented from 10:00 on Wednesday until midnight. On Thursday, Stage 2 loadshedding will then be implemented every day from 05:00 to 00:00 until Sunday.

Eskom stated that due to the breakdown of four generation units, contributing to the capacity constraints, the new schedule of Stage 2 loadshedding is necessary.

Eskom also warned that higher stages may be necessary during the evening peaks.
