The Democratic Alliance (DA) has successfully retained its seat in Ward 7 of the Msukaligwa Municipality following the by-election held on 23 October 2024. The DA’s candidate, Jacob Johannes Scholtz, secured 51.95% of the total votes cast, amounting to 346 votes. This marks an increase from the 40.90% achieved in the 2021 Municipal Elections. The Patriotic Alliance (PA) received 180 votes (27.03%), and the African National Congress (ANC) garnered 140 votes (21.02%). Voter turnout was 19.77%.
