Ermelo Police have detained the father of a 14-month-old baby girl in connection with her tragic death on Wednesday 1st January 2025. Police were called to the Ermelo Provincial Hospital following reports from nursing staff regarding the suspicious circumstances surrounding the child death.

According to nursing staff, the baby was brought in around 4:00 a.m. by her biological father, who claimed that she had fallen from a bed. Tragically, the child was pronounced dead upon arrival.
