During a recent community meeting on the proposed Integrated Development Plan (IDP) budget for Msukaligwa Municipality, sharp criticism was levelled against the process and the figures presented. A representative of the Patriotic Alliance (PA), Lourens de Beer, voiced concerns, stating, “There was no back-up info to explain the expenditures.” He added that a community member had rightly questioned “how the budget was compiled and the origins of the figures presented,” highlighting a broader lack of transparency.
