LEPHALALE – WATERBERG DISTRICT: Police in Lephalale have opened an inquest after the body of an unidentified woman was discovered inside a lodge room on Sunday, 12 October 2025, at around 18:20.

According to reports, an African male arrived at the lodge earlier that day at approximately 11:00 and booked a room for a few hours. He informed staff that he was expecting a female companion to join him later.

At around 18:00, a staff member went to the room for a routine check and cleaning. Upon entering, they discovered the body of an African female lying face down on the floor and unresponsive. The man who had booked the room was no longer present.
