As part of the October Transport Month campaign, traffic law enforcement officers from the Mpumalanga Department of Community Safety, Security and Liaison led a K78 roadblock on Wednesday, 22 October 2025, along the N2 Ngwempisi Road between Ermelo and Mkhondo.

The operation was supported by the Department of Public Works, Roads and Transport (Transport Inspectorate Unit), Mkhondo traffic officials, the South African Police Service and Crime Prevention Wardens.
