On Tuesday afternoon, an accident occurred just outside Ermelo on the Lothair road. According to an eyewitness, a car travelling at high speed attempted to overtake a bakkie when the vehicle lost control and slammed into the bakkie. As a result, the bakkie lost control and rolled several times before coming to a standstill on its side. The car ended up in a farmers field after ploughing through the field's fence.
