Eight suspects have been arrested in connection with illegal mining activities and mining equipment confiscated at Phasha Skraal, Twickernham in Sekhukhune District on Tuesday, 10 October.

The arrest is part of the South African Police Service’s Provincial Organised Crime Unit’s decisive action to combat illicit mining activities that continue to mar the district.

Colonel Malesela Ledwaba, Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, informed that the team, in collaboration with private security companies, pounced on the suspects while illegally mining chrome in the said area.
