The Groblersdal Crime Prevention, members of the Vehicle Crime Investigation Modimolle and Groblersdal, in collaboration with the Groblersdal Rural Safety and Groblersdal private security firms arrested a 58 year-old former police officer, who is the owner of a warehouse and a funeral parlour, for possession of suspected stolen motor vehicles and other properties at Groblersdal Town and Moteti Village on Monday, 15 January.


Police said the team activated an operation focused on stolen motor vehicles at Groblersdal and Dennilton areas under the Sekhukhune district.


Limpopo Provincial Police spokesperson, Colonel Malesela Ledwaba indicated that during the operation, police seized suspected stolen properties, including motor vehicles at Waterbok Street in Groblersdal at the warehouse and at the funeral parlour in Moteti Village.


Police found a Hyundai H1 minibus reported stolen at Mondeor Police Station during July 2021, a Mercedes Benz Vito minibus reported stolen at Boipatong


Police Station during September 2023, a flatdeck trailer with numbers grinded off, a Ford Ranger single cab reported stolen at Vaalbank Police station during December 2023, a Toyota Fortuner with chassis/engine number grinded and re-stamped, a fridge trailer with no tags and numbers grinded off, and a flat deck trailer with no tags and chassis grinded off.
