iNews Ermelo, Conrad 09 March

On the 4th of March, a residential house in Oostehuise Street burned down. The cause of the fire was a pot of oil on the stove in the kitchen that caught fire. The fire department responded quickly with a team of seven firefighters and fought the fire. Due to the three-day water shortage in Ermelo, the fire engine had to leave the scene to fill up at the Fire Station (the closest reliable source) because the fire hydrants in the vicinity had no water. Unfortunately, during the time it took to refill the 3850-litre fire engine, the almost extinguished fire raged up again and became an inferno.
